Make It Fun

Updated: Aug 23, 2018

So the big day is tomorrow: Chloe's 5th birthday party. It's princess tea party themed, of course. We've had so much fun planning this party. Here are some tips for making your party planning an energizing experience:

  • Involve them in the process. Chloe picked the theme. We poured over Oriental Trading to pick the right favors and activities together. She even helped make the cake.

  • Go all in. All of the kids are dressing up as princesses, so I bit the bullet and bought an adult size Cinderella costume myself. Her face lit up when she saw it.

  • Plan ahead. I bought most of the decorations and favors over a month ago. This meant no last-minute scrambling, and we could spread out the fun of planning over a longer period of time.

  • Focus on what matters. I bought most of the food pre-made from Trader Joes. That freed us up to just have fun versus slaving for days in the kitchen. Trust me, the kids don't know the difference.

Anyhow, I'm pumped. Birthdays should be fun, not stressful!

A birthday party happens once a year therefore it would be nice not to dread it by making every ounce of it as fun as possible, planning and organizing included.
