A not-so-gentle reminder to slow down

Last night I was struck by a bout of food poisoning. It came out of nowhere (and I still have no idea from what) right when I was going to bed.


I woke up this morning feeling better, thinking I could make it through my day. After 30-minutes of work, I realized that was not happening. I was wiped. I cleared my calendar.


I always find it amazing that when you have to, you can. Meetings can wait. People understand. The world is not going to crash around you.


So if you are feeling pressured, ask yourself, “If I had an emergency come up today, what could I cancel or move?” It’s a great filter to see what really matters.
