Your Best Holidays Ever: Be Intentional

Updated: Aug 23, 2018

Holidays are stressful. Tempting foods get in the way of health goals. With shopping, decorating and parties, you have even less time than usual. And, more family time comes with potential flights and annoyances.

This week, let's work on being intentional with how you approach the next few weeks. You can't control other people, but you can control how you handle these situations. Today, take a few minutes to identify and write down the following:

Three priorities for the holidays. Mine are creating traditions with my kids, hearing more family stories, and spending time to reflect on the craziness that was 2017.

Three pitfalls you want to avoid, such as gaining weight due to too much drinking and sugar, getting riled up by family members (even well intention-ed ones), and doing too much (being too exhausted or busy to really enjoy the time).

Write these down and ideally post them somewhere you see everyday.  Even better - email them to me!  Tomorrow we'll start tackling some of the common ones.

Family tradition gives a family a unique sense of belongingness.
